Alcohol free zones and alcohol prohibited areas

Maps for each area are included below and have been coloured coded to easily identify the restrictions that apply to each of the areas.

background

At the 7 September 2022 Council meeting, Council decided to place the Alcohol Free Zones (AFZ) and Alcohol Prohibited Areas (APA) on exhibition for community feedback.

Your feedback was considered by us and was presented to Council in November 2022 to re-establish these zones across the region.

AFZs have been in place since 1997 and are based on previous street statistics provided by NSW Police. They are not to remove the amenity or use of areas, but are a tool that is used when behaviour becomes inappropriate. Once the AFZs and APAs are in place exemptions can be made for events or activities through a resolution of Council.
