This policy sets out the criteria Council considers before accepting the dedication of land or assets. It ensures that only land and assets which are safe, suitable, and beneficial to the community are accepted.

The policy also protects against Council taking on properties with poor usability, environmental or health risks, or unreasonable maintenance costs, while ensuring adequate funding is in place for both short- and long-term management.
