Flood Funded repairs projects

We received a Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Program grant of $5.5 million from the State Government to repair infrastructure that was damaged during the 2021 floods.

This funding means we can now repair the pontoons, jetties, playgrounds and other assets that were damaged, once the funds are received.

For more details, see our media release linked below.

Planned projects

  • $3.25 million for aquatic infrastructure

Repairs to pontoons at Endeavour Reserve, Queen Elizabeth Park, River Street and pontoon and wharf replacement at Bohnock, Croki, Tinonee, Manning Point, Pampoolah, Old Bar, Nerong, Wallis Lake (Elizabeth Beach) and Wingham.

  • $414,000 for boat ramp repairs

Work at Andrews Reserve, Bohnock Reserve, Horace Dean, Manning Point and Manning Waters.

  • $900,000 for reserves and park repairs

Work to landscaping, gardens, shelters, park furniture, barbecues, fences and playgrounds at Billabong Park, Chrissy Gollan Park and King George V Park.

  • $1 million for recreation assets along Taree river

This includes replacement and repair of fencing walkways, balustrades and riverbank stabilising.

It will also fund the replacement and repair of damaged barbecues, shelters, park furniture, planter boxes, pathways, and landscaping at Queen Elizabeth Park as well as building of a new improved flood resilient playground nearby.

  • $2.3 million for Wingham reserve and tennis courts

Wingham Tennis Court works are complete.

The Wingham tennis courts are now back up and running at full capacity. This follows recent repair and resurfacing works to the courts that were damaged from the landslip caused during the March 2021 flooding event.

The completion of the court repairs follows the bank stabilisation works under the courts that were previously undertaken.

Both project elements have been funded through the NSW Government’s Community Local Infrastructure Recovery Program.
