A 2.2 kilometre section of water main along Manning River Drive has been upgraded to reduce pressure issues and allow for future growth in the Cundletown area.

The 225mm main that provided water to Cundletown from Kolodong Reservoir No. 3 was not large enough to sustain consistent water pressure to the area, resulting in periods of reduced service for customers. A larger main was also needed to service future residential and commercial developments in the area.

A 300mm main has been installed along Manning River Drive in Cundletown, between Bligh Street and Albert Street. The project was undertaken in two stages, with the first stage completed between Albert Street and the Dawson River Bridge, and the second completed between the Dawson River Bridge and Bligh Street.

The larger main ensures customers in Cundletown receive consistent water pressure. It will also help accommodate new residential and commercial developments in the area, which will increase housing availability and promote economic growth.
