The chemical systems at a number of sewage treatment plants across the MidCoast are being upgraded to meet current Australian standards.
A variety of assets at the Forster, Old Bar, Manning Point, Stroud, Hallidays Point, Hawks Nest and Bulahdelah sewage treatment plants and the Tuncurry Recycled Water Treatment Plant need to be replaced to comply with the latest Australian standards and reduce the environmental, operational and workplace health and safety risks associated with using outdated equipment.
All outdated assets at these sites will be replaced with equipment that meets the latest Australian standards.
The project will deliver more efficient operational outcomes, improved staff safety and greater protection of the natural environment as our effluent will ultimately be treated to a higher standard.
