How your input shaped this plan

Exhibition period

The draft plan was on public exhibition for community feedback from 20 September to November 2024, where we received 25 formal submissions.

The feedback received from the community was considered and some changes were made to the draft document.

The plan was then adopted by the elected Council at the 26 February 2025 Ordinary Meeting.

Community feedback

Feedback from submissions was mainly in support of constructing a fitness and exercise trail around the showground, which then extends out to join with the existing Stroud Heritage Walk.

A submission was made about people using a wall to practice against inside the tennis courts and how it would be great to have a practice wall outside the courts so that you do not need to go get a key.

A submission was received about the toilets at the showground are often locked and you have to use the toilets at the pool.

Other submissions were about drainage, horses at the skatepark, tree planting plan development, request for sullage points, and requests to upgrade the area underneath the grandstand as well as the playground, amenities block and inclusion of more shade.

Changes made based on your feedback

Based on the feedback received, the following actions have been updated and can be viewed in the attached Council report:

  • a fitness and exercise trail around the Showground connecting to the existing Stroud Heritage Walk has been included.
  • investigate the provision of a tennis hit-up wall
  • public access to the amenity building
  • recent sightings of platypus in Mill Creek have been included in the plan
