A more inclusive, all-access facility
Work to upgrade Tea Gardens Pool and make it more accessible for all is now complete.
The $700,000 improvement project includes the installation of a new access ramp, all-access shower and toilet, all-access pathways and upgrades to the existing amenities.
The WORKS COMPLETED
- Installation of a new hot water system for the change room showers and security around the new system
- A wider, accessible entrance to the change rooms
- Repairs to leaks in the pool (funded by Council)
- The installation of a new ramp into the pool
- Wider, accessible pathways
- A new all-access bathroom
- We were also successful in adding to the scope of the project in delivering new storage sheds for some of the pool’s user groups.
Construction on the Tea Gardens Pool experienced numerous challenges, delaying the planned opening.
We thank the community for their patience. Works were completed with the pool re-opening on 16 January 2023.
