The plan runs until 2036, and we know that things can change quickly. We want to check whether the Plan is still on track to achieve your vision for our cultural future. We are not rewriting the Plan. Rather we want to know if it needs any tweaks to make it future-fit.

What’s been achieved so far 💫

Together with our local creatives and a growing cultural industry, we’ve achieved some of the Plan’s objectives already:

• established the MidCoast Arts Support Program, investing $15,000 annually in local arts
• employed a local Cultural Development Officer to foster the local arts ecosystem
• partnered with Coastline Bank to help schools and educational organisations in the region access cultural experiences (performances, exhibitions, excursions)
• Built and opened the Beryl Jane Flett Studio at the MEC
• developed an Indigenous Art scholarship for NAIDOC week
• held professional development workshops for the creative industries
• streamlined the process for public art applications.
