long-term water strategy

Safeguarding our water and sewer systems means we can deliver reliable, sustainable services into the future.

Safeguarding community assets

We’re working to keep our community assets safe, functional, and accessible for everyone.
  • Improving the flood resilience of aquatic infrastructure, such as the pontoon at Taree, by increasing the height of piers.

Building greener

Our construction materials are becoming more environmentally friendly.

Our natural environment

Explore the programs helping to protect our wildlife and natural environment.

  • We are supporting landholders to supply water for wildlife during extreme weather through workshops and access to support programs.

Coastal Management Programs help protect our communities, natural habitats, and infrastructure by identifying coastal issues and planning smart, long-term responses, building resilience to climate change and guiding sustainable development.

Get involved

We are engaging with the community, providing resources, and collaborating with key groups to enhance disaster preparedness and resilience.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and live, the Gathang-speaking people and pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who now reside in the MidCoast Council area. We extend our respect to elders past and present, and to all future cultural-knowledge holders.
