About the project
The local community as well as the fishing club will benefit from the upgraded boat ramp and jetty on the scenic Allworth foreshore.
Allworth and District Social Fishing Club Inc. was successful in obtaining grant funding to upgrade these facilities. We managed the project which was completed in March 2024.
The club hosts a popular annual fishing tournament at this location.
The bottom section of the boat ramp was replaced, this was heavily damaged and not long enough to launch on all tides. This has been completed from the MHWM (Mean high water mark) down and extended several meters to allow launching of vessels on all tides.
The top bitumen section of the ramp has also been patched and repaired.
The old hardwood decking boards on the jetty were replaced with new hardwood boards, and the jetty was painted. A refurbished 6m x 3m pontoon with gangway has also been installed to aid in boat launching and retrieval for the adjoining boat ramp.
The upgrades to the boat ramp and jetty are in addition to other projects on the foreshore reserve, including new toilets and fish cleaning tables that have been installed in recent years.
