The MidCoast has an extensive network of stunning rivers, waterways, coastal estuaries and beaches.
The marine environment is a harsh one, so we undertake an ongoing program of maintenance and replacement of facilities including boat ramps, jetties, wharves, pontoons, fishing tables, marine pump out stations, and swimming enclosures.
We have been working on improvements to the Forster Tuncurry Foreshore Walk over the past few years. Completed works include new decking, a new 120m section of suspended boardwalk with balustrades and interpretive signage, and a lower-level landing with kayak launching system.
We are currently constructing a new 80m section of over-water boardwalk and provisions for a future marine effluent pump out facility.
The swimming enclosure and picnic space has had a complete makeover.
Project completed in 2025.
The Dolphin Drive pedestrian pathway, which runs along the Forster Boat Harbour, underwent repairs to the retaining wall in March 2024.
Maintenance work on the stairway including the replacement of platforms and stairways with non-slip product (FRP) whilst retaining as much original timber material as possible along with the original footprint.
New signage is being developed in cooperation with Natural Systems.

Pathway extension along the Forster foreshore including shared ramps, driveways and parking.
A four-person fish cleaning table was installed in 2021.
Replacement of timber decking with non-slip (FRP) Treadwell decking. Replacement of kerbs/kick boards and installation of low table/platform.
Recreational Fishing Trust Grant funded project overseen by Council
Upgrades to Tea Gardens jetty were completed in 2024. Work included widening and lengthening the existing boat ramp, installing a floating centre pontoon, replacing the jetty decking, new kick rails and extending the boat rigging area.

We extend our respect to elders past and present, and to all future cultural-knowledge holders.
