About the strategy

We are developing an Open Space and Recreation Strategy to guide planning, managing, creating and maintaining outdoor spaces in the MidCoast local government area, and we are inviting everyone to be involved.

We heard your visions and aspirations for your neighbourhoods, district and regional outdoor spaces.

When we drafted the MidCoast Open Space and Recreation Strategy, we considered:

• the feedback you provided on our website and the information that participants provided in workshops later in the project
• the information contained in the Open Space and Recreation Needs analysis
• State, regional, and local planning frameworks.

The strategy does not apply to privately owned or managed outdoor spaces. However, these spaces and the sport and recreation opportunities they provide have been considered in the development of the strategy.
