What you told us

A snapshot of your feedback which helped us develop the Draft MidCoast Aboriginal Action Plan.

Background

The MidCoast region has over 94,000 residents with 6.2% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, well above the NSW regional average of 4.7%. We value our diverse community and recognise the opportunity to embrace the local Aboriginal culture and enhance inclusiveness.

We’re developing a Draft MidCoast Aboriginal Action Plan that will help guide our efforts to ensure improved outcomes for Aboriginal people on the MidCoast. While not all needs that you identify are Council’s responsibility to deliver, we will seek partnerships with other organisations and government agencies to deliver improvements.

We’re inviting all MidCoast community members to help us develop the Draft MidCoast Aboriginal Action Plan.

We will be working very closely with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders to ensure the development of strategies that align with community needs.
