Parks and playground improvements
We are working through a number of playground makeover projects in the MidCoast, to replace old playgrounds with new and exciting play spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Projects that improve parks, playgrounds and open spaces for the whole community. This includes new play equipment, seating, shade, paths and landscaping to make these spaces safer and more enjoyable.
Projects focused on making it easier and safer to enjoy our beaches, lakes and waterways. This includes beach access paths, viewing areas, facilities and coastal improvements.
We review the work we do to improve access ways to our beaches, ensuring we can all enjoy our beautiful coastline while protecting its important environmental values.
Check out the facilities including boat ramps, jetties, wharves, pontoons, fishing tables, marine pump out stations, and swimming enclosures that we have been working on.
Projects that enhance community halls and shared spaces where people gather, meet and host events. This includes upgrades to buildings, accessibility, kitchens and amenities.
A large investment is being made in improving these facilities for our community with projects underway or scheduled, for many of the community halls across the MidCoast.
The Forster Civic Precinct includes a new public library, visitor information and a customer service centre for the community.
We are regularly improving our cultural facilities to ensure they continue to meet the needs of our community.
Projects that support active lifestyles through better sports fields, courts and recreation spaces. This includes lighting, surfaces, seating and supporting infrastructure.
We are working with community groups and the State and Federal Government to invest in improving our sporting facilities across the MidCoast.
We have invested in improving our public pools across the MidCoast, with a focus on making sure they are accessible to all members of the community.
Projects that improve everyday facilities like public amenities, change rooms and supporting infrastructure to ensure they are clean, safe and accessible.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and live, the Gathang-speaking people and pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who now reside in the MidCoast Council area. We extend our respect to elders past and present, and to all future cultural-knowledge holders.
